Boy cousins!

My sister-in-law, Amber came out to Provo for about 10 days to visit her sister that just had a baby, but we were able to spend some time together too! She has a son (almost 2 years) named Jake and he and Luke became really good buddies. They really didn't fight very much but Luke was able to hold his own around Jake even though there's quite a size difference. We took them to a fun jumping center called 'Jump on it' and they both really seemed to love it. Mostly they just got to play at home . . . throw balls, take each others toys, play in the dirt. We're so glad they came to visit and I'm pretty sure they'll be good friends as they get older.

Sorry it's been so long . . . again

Once again it's been nearly a month since I've posted. I think the main reason I'm not good at posting is because I send a weekly update to my family members, and I think the other reason is that I have a child that rarely takes a nap longer than one hour. Apparently his father was done with naps by the time he was 18 months old and it looks like Luke is heading in the same direction (which is entirely not fair to me, but what can I do). Anyways, we've had a pretty good month and I'm going to put up several posts of the happenings in the Johnson home.

Yes, We're Still Alive

It's been quite a while since I've posted. I'm sure all of you have been getting antsy with anticipation, but you don't have to worry any more. We've had a fairly busy month, but I have no excuses for not posting other than I just haven't. What's happened this month. . . our Easter was pretty uneventful. Sadly, David had to work, but he was at least able to go to sacrament meeting. We went to California (LA) the first week of April to visit David's parents. We had a lot of fun there and Luke loved spending time with his Grandma and Grandpa. We mostly just enjoyed the beautiful weather and spring flowers. We've gone to the zoo and we've enjoyed the sporadic days of spring. Luke is growing too fast and he's getting so smart. That's just a pretty quick update, but we're doing well!

Mesa Visit

Luke and I got to go spend a week in Mesa with my parents and sisters. My oldest sister and her husband live with my parents and my older sister came to visit also with her 2 daughters. We had a lot of fun just hanging out. I got to eat sushi for the first time and we took the kids to the zoo. Sadly almost everyone got sick including Luke. I managed to keep from getting sick, but we brought it home for David. Anyways, it was a fun trip and I'm so glad we got to go!

Dinner Exchanges

My friends and I have just started doing the most amazing thing ever. We each make one meal enough to feed everyone involved (usually 5-7 girls plus spouses) and then we give the meals to each other. In effect I end up only having to make one meal a week and I get 5-6 in return! This is a big time saver, stress reliever, and it's easy on the pocket book. I'm really enjoying doing this and hope we continue to do it for a while. I seriously encourage all of you to try this with some of your friends. (We all meet together once a week at a play group to make the exchanges easier)

Taxes Rant!

So, I've just spent the past 2 hours filing our taxes and then our printer ran out of ink so I couldn't even finish! Why does it have to be so time consuming? I don't mind paying taxes . . . for the most part (yes, we have to pay because David was self employed last year), but I just wish it wasn't so confusing and timely. At least I can say I'm almost finished, so that's a big stress off my shoulders. Until next year . . .

Hair cut

I've been wanting to get my hair cut for a long time. I didn't really know what I wanted to do and I thought I would keep it kind of long, but when I got to the salon I just decided to cut it short and get bangs. I've actually never had bangs before. I'm not really sure why but I think I was a little afraid of them. I guess because you can't really change them once you do it, but I decided to go for it and I love it!
