Ramblings

This is really about nothing in particular and I hope I can actually write something because Luke is sleeping about 4 feet away from me and I don't want to wake him. At least he has a blanket over his head so the light from the computer shouldn't bother him. I finally decided that Seth is getting too big and mobile to sleep in our beat down pack n play (in the bathroom) any longer. So, he has been moved to the crib, which has been Luke's bed and Luke has been moved onto a toddler mattress until his bed is ready. David built it and it's in the process of getting painted. The boys do NOT do well in the same room at night. They constantly wake each other and they both end up in tears at least once in the middle of the night and then they wake up extra early in the morning. Because I like to sleep, something I haven't had much of since Seth was born, we put Luke in the office . . . so far so good. It may become his permanent bedroom.

The boys and I have been fighting a nasty, nasty cold this week. I haven't felt this sick in a long time, but I'm on the mend and the boys are much better too. Seth got into the bag of cough drops (the good Halls Breezers kind) and was in heaven with two in his mouth and a fist full in his hands when I found him. He was quite put out when I took them all away.

I think it's fun when I see random things that make me laugh. Today while we were out in the front yard a woman was walking by with a stroller. Silly me, I assumed there was a baby in it. It turned out to be 3 very small dogs, each wearing a little outfit. It just made me laugh. But, I'm glad she has them.

I have more Luke quotes:
Yesterday I was telling David that I had several canker sores in my mouth because I've been sick and Luke said:

"Is a sore kinda like a dinosaur?"

David was flipping through channels and Wheel of Fortune was on:

Luke: "What is that prophet doing that is talking to those people?" (Referring to the host) Apparently men in suits are prophets

I was telling Luke about family names and who belongs to what family. We are the 'J' family, Addy (cousin) is in the "T" family, "J" is in the Roach family:

Luke: "Is Roach kinda like a Cock Roach?"

Here are some recent pictures because that's more fun. You're a trooper if you read my ramblings.

This is How I Roll

Seth found D's wedding ring, watch, and back scratcher. He insisted on wearing them for quite a while, even during snack. This kid cracks me up.

Conversations with a 3 Year Old

Luke makes us laugh constantly with the things he says. I want to be sure and record some of them before I forget!

Luke sang really loud during all the songs in church yesterday. No matter the song he belted 'I Need Thee Every Hour' and he was very proud of himself. Later that night he said:

Luke: I sang really loud in church. I sang so loud that everyone could hear me. I sang so loud that the prophets could hear me!

Me: Who are the prophets?

Luke: They bring us the bread and water
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

We've had a few 'difficult' days. With so much sickness and cabin fever there has been a bit of tension. Luke has had a really hard time sharing and David was getting especially frustrated so finally this happened:

David: Should I just throw all your cars in the garbage?

Luke: No, Daddy! Let's throw you in the garbage!

A while later after he calmed down:

Luke: Daddy, I'm sorry that I wanted to throw you in the garbage.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Me: Okay, it's time to go to the grocery store.

Luke: We don't need to go to the grocery store. We already have food. We need to go to Toys R Us and get cars.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Me: Who is your favorite Car? (from the movie, Cars)

Luke: Flo

Me: Why do you like Flo?

Luke: She's cute (a little shyly)

Where's my mommy?

So, yet again David and Luke have the stomach flu (Seth is just getting over it). Thank goodness I haven't had it, but I am so sick and tired of everyone at our house being sick and tired. We really love living here, but it's times like this that I wish we had some family nearby to rely on for support. The house is in possibly it's worst condition ever and I just can't gather the strength to take care of it. I just want a little vacation from being a mommy and to have my mommy take care of me. But, these two little rascals are worth everything and I wouldn't trade them for the world.
